"And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall."

What's with everybody and tilapia? In Hawaii, it was considered a "junk fish" that infested the streams and lakes.

Hey all,

Mikki: I had never even heard of the fish until a couple years ago.

Alice, we live in Utah...Utah does not have a lot of native fish (trout is about it)...and quite frankly, I like tilapia.

The meme came from a friend's blog.

Nanc, next month and into September will find me canning up a storm. Our garden is doing quite well this year...except for the tomatoes which are taking their sweet time.

so are ours!

i got so frustrated with them that i did a green tomato relish with some of the leftover squash pickle brine - yes, i'm a little impatient...that and a majority of our tomatoes got a curly leaf virus, which could have stopped at one, but pop likes to go around petting and smelling the 'mater plants - he passed it on to about 30 plants and we had to uproot them and put them into the garbage, so now we have very few plants left he didn't harm.

i told him he needs to keep his hands to himself!

there's a new squash pickle recipe up at sensible folks if you'd like to check it out.

I don't know that I would be up for much of a squash pickle recipe...though it sounds interesting.
